Hannigan Honey is based in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan and was established in 1940 by Albert Hannigan during the sugar rationing of the 2nd World War. Albert was very particular about keeping honey as natural as possible, no excess heat, no pasteurization. This care for nature’s sweetener has been passed on to the next generation including Murray and Ruby Hannigan, Lydia Graham and David Philp.

Hannigan Honey is selected by floral source with unique variants of Sweet Clover, or Autumn Wildflower, along with the standards such as Alfalfa and Canola honeys. From small jars of smooth, creamy white honey, to container loads of honey in drums, Hannigan Honey has grown from a small farm operation into a major Saskatchewan producer for over 75 years. The honey is naturally processed to preserve its vitamin and mineral content, amazing white colour and wonderfully mild flavour.

The 5,000-plus beehives are rated as the healthiest and most productive among our peers and produce an average of 1 million pounds of honey a year. Hannigan Honey is CFIA and USFDA approved.
